I was created to create.

My name is Ali Deckard. I am a Chicago-grown, Soul/Americana artist. I moved to the DC area in 2022 after living in LA for 5 years. My eclectic style hints at musical influences from the blues, pop, rock, folk, soul, jazz, and gospel genres.

I have a B.M. in Music Ministry from Olivet Nazarene University, an M.A. in Christian Ministry also from Olivet Nazarene University, and a graduate degree in Certification Eligibility for Music Therapy from Shenandoah University. I work as a board-certified music therapist (MT-BC) at both Johns Hopkins Hospital in Maryland and A Place To Be in Virginia. I also teach private voice and piano at Notes N’ Beats, a music school in Ashburn, VA merging Indian and Western styles of music.

My husband and partner in all things is Joel Deckard, who also happens to be my favorite drummer/percussionist and the one featured in my music.

I am an explorer, cheese enthusiast and avid weeper during movies. I believe the world needs art and music to remember the beauty and goodness in it, to see what we have in common, and to paint pictures of a better way to live together.

It is my mission to connect with people, and connect people to people through the combination of melody, rhythm, lyric, spirit, and story.
